SIYAC members who are part of the Youth Outreach Committee plan to engage youth across the State of Iowa. The committee's goal is to better the lives of Iowa’s youth and to raise awareness of SIYAC throughout Iowa in order to inspire youth to lead.
The Substance Abuse Committee is looking to confront the issue of substance abuse among youth, and to provide resources and assistance for young people to learn about the dangers of substance abuse and find ways to avoid or end substance abuse.
Students who are part of the Teen Nutrition Committee will be working hand-in-hand with Team Nutrition to promote health and welness in schools throughout Iowa.
The Post Graduation Committee is looking to have Iowa students better prepared for life after high school. The goal of the committee is to educate the youth of Iowa of the opportunities available after graduation and inform how important education is. They would like to work toward creating a program for every high school senior to evaluate their readiness for college.
SIYAC members have prepared a PowerPoint that will be used to introduce their role as a SIYAC representative to schools. The PowerPoint can be accessed in 2007 or in 97-2003.
