Forum for Youth Investment (FYI) The Forum for Youth Investment is a nonprofit, nonpartisan "action tank" dedicated to helping communities and the nation make sure all young people are Ready by 21®: ready for college, work and life. FYI aims to create opportunities and incentives for youth and adult leaders to think differently, act differently and act together because they are: linked by core beliefs about what is needed, guided by a shared sense of accountability, girded by compelling data, and driven by a common desire to ensure that all children, youth, families and communities have the supports and opportunities they need to succeed.
Youth Policy Action Center The Youth Policy Action Center is a web site that engages young people (and adults) in democracy: changing policies that change young people’s lives. On April 18, 2005, more than 30 of the country’s leading national advocacy organizations launched the Youth Policy Action Center Web site. The Youth Policy Action Center has opened up membership to state and local organizations and features state-specific pages, an information clearinghouse, in-depth political tools, and interactive features including a blog, videos, and social networking.
Iowa Youth Congress Iowa Youth Congress is made up of 100 minority student leaders from across the state. The Congress meets every fall at the Capitol in Des Moines to work on their agenda and adopt issues and legislation to pursue throughout the year. IYC is housed in the Department of Human Right’s division of Latino Affairs.
Just Eliminate Lies (JEL) Just Eliminate Lies (JEL) is a youth led tobacco prevention and education program anchored by the State of Iowa’s Department of Public Health. JEL coordinates activities to fight the tobacco industry's efforts to manipulate teens into using tobacco products. JEL also provides peer-to-peer education to youth across the state, promotes leadership at the local level, and implements events and activities across the state to engage youth in the fight against tobacco.
